WORDS SET TO MUSIC MONDAY - I WANT YOU TO WANT ME

Monday, July 25, 2011

We've all been there.  Done that.  Someone sparks something in us that makes us promise anything to have them.  Then, we finally come to our senses and realize that they just weren't the best thing since sliced bread after all.  Typically these kinds of things happen in your late teens and early twenties.  When you do the whole "driving by his house to see if he's home" thing.  Not that I've ever done that personally or anything.  Because it makes a difference if he's home or not.  Not really.  But, if he were home, you'd know he wasn't with someone else.  Unless she's home with him.  Oh No, not that!  The all too familiar feelings of unrequited love.  Thank goodness that when we get older we tend to realize that if they take that much convincing, they're probably not the right person for us anyway.  Or, maybe not...

"I WANT YOU TO WANT ME"
Cheap Trick

I want you to want me.
I need you to need me.
I'd love you to love me.
I'm beggin' you to beg me.

I want you to want me.
I need you to need me.
I'd love you to love me.

I'll shine up the old brown shoes,
 Put on a brand-new shirt.
I'll get home early from work,
If you say that you love me.

Didn't I, didn't I, didn't I see you cryin'?
Oh, didn't I, didn't I, didn't I see you cryin'?
Feelin' all alone without a friend, you know you feel like dyin'.
Oh, didn't I, didn't I, didn't I see you cryin'?

I want you to want me.
I need you to need me.
I'd love you to love me.
I'm beggin' you to beg me.

I'll shine up the old brown shoes,
 I'll put on a brand-new shirt.

Feelin' all alone without a friend, you know you feel like dyin'.
Oh, didn't I, didn't I, didn't I see you cryin'?

I want you to want me.
I need you to need me.
I'd love you to love me.
I'm beggin' you to beg me.

I want you to want me.
I want you to want me.
I want you to want me.
I want you to want me.
